New Entrants

In New Zealand, children usually start school on their 5th birthday.
We want to give your child the best possible start at school and so we encourage you to enrol your child well in advance of this date.  This allows parents, child and teacher to get to know one another before that all important first day at school. A good way for this to happen is through pre-school visits (i.e. the child coming to school for a morning several times before the first day). We have no set times for these visits and will happily discuss with you what best suits your particular circumstances.  The length of time your child spends in the new entrant class will depend on their starting date.  Jan Riley, our New Entrant Teacher, will be happy to explain this to you.
